Inaugural Gathering: Minnesota 2026 (The Foundation)

The story of the Liberia Music Festival officially reached the stage in 2026 with our landmark 3-day inaugural gathering in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. As the organization's debut event, the 2026 festival was strategically designed to officially launch and establish the Liberia Music Festival as a premier cultural institution in North America.

Despite being our very first event, the festival was a vibrant, high-energy triumph that brought together roughly 200 passionate attendees, with guests, artists, and community members flying in from all across the United States to witness history in the making.

2026 Festival Highlights:

23 Performing Artists: A dynamic lineup of 23 performing acts took the stage, delivering electrifying sets that spanned traditional Liberian sounds, Gbema, Highlife, Afrobeats, Amapiano and gospel.

Legendary Honoree Ceremony: A hallmark segment of the festival was our dedicated award session, where we officially honored 4 iconic legendary musicians of Liberia for their monumental contributions to our culture and music industry.

Phenomenal Stage Hosting: Our co-hosts kept the room buzzing from start to finish—captivating the audience, keeping eyes glued to the stage, and filling the hall with laughter and community pride all weekend long.

National Representation: Attendees and diaspora leaders traveled from across the country to Coon Rapids, MN, proving the deep hunger for a unified Liberian cultural festival.

The success of Minnesota 2026 set a powerful precedent, proving that when our community unites around music, culture, and artistic excellence, magic happens.
