ABOUT US Our Story & Mission
The Liberia Music Festival was established to create an authentic,
high-energy platform for Liberian music, performance art, and cultural
heritage. From traditional Gbema rhythms and Highlife classics to
modern Afrobeats and Amapiano, LMF bridges the gap between
legendary icons who built our industry and the vibrant new generation
of diaspora artists. Our mission is to strengthen Liberian artists by
using the arts as a vehicle for economic growth, inclusion, and
opportunity
Our Origins & Governance Structure
The vision for the Liberia Music Festival was sparked in 2025 when
our President, Victor Jones, rallied key players and artists in the
Liberian Music Industry in the diaspora and cultural advocates
together with a shared passion to turn a vision of cultural
empowerment into reality.
Initially, the initiative began as a grassroots movement, bringing
Liberian musicians and creators together through an expansive
community network to foster open dialogue. To ensure long-term
stability, professional execution, and strategic growth, the leadership
established a dedicated Executive Board as the founding core and
primary decision-making body. While the Board collaborates closely
with artists, performers, and community partners on every project, it
serves as the governing anchor responsible for strategic planning,
operational oversight, and institutional vision.
